Building a Sustainable Future for the Solar Industry

SolarRecycle.org was created as a free resource in 2021 by a coalition of clean energy experts to aid the industry in solar equipment decommissioning, recycling, and circularity.

In 2025, the Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA) acquired the resource and completed a comprehensive content refresh to better serve solar and energy storage companies, U.S. businesses, policymakers, the American public, and the media.

Today, SEIA operates SolarRecycle.org as a clearinghouse for information about end-of-life issues affecting solar equipment, providing open and transparent access to quality information, research, and published works to fuel innovation and industry growth.

Open access to high-quality information helps lead to more informed decision making.

SEIA sources data for SolarRecycle.org from our own research, partners such as NREL, EPA, and participants in our National PV Circularity Program, credible news outlets, and subject-matter experts from industry and government.
